On June 26th, eight players were thrown out of Sunday’s Mariners Angles Game after a wild brawl broke out between two teams.
One day before the Sunday game, Seattle Mariners Erik Swanson threw a 95mph fastball toward Los Angeles Angels three-time AL MVP Mike Trout, barely missing his head.
In the first inning of Sunday’s game, Angels opener Andrew Wantz threw a pitch behind the head of the Mariners' No. 2 hitter, Julio Rodriguez. And then, in the second inning, he threw another ball that hit
After getting hit, Winker was infuriated. He yelled at the Angels' dugout. The fight between the two teams started quickly and lasted for 4 minutes. It is said that “Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon, who is out for the season with an injured right wrist, used his left hand to shove Winker in the face during the brawl.”
The game was delayed for approximately 18 minutes because of the fight. Six players and both teams’ managers were ejected. They are Winker, Rodriguez, shortstop J.P. Crawford and manager Scott Servais from Mariners, Wantz, pitchers Ryan Tepera and Raisel Iglesias, and interim manager Phil Nevin from the Angels.
