By: Hanna Qian

The golden retriever, Lulu, was gone for 3 weeks. But then a construction crew this week found Lulu lying in the brush alongside a road not far from Kubacki’s home. She was about 15 feet down an embankment, and at first the crew thought it was a bear. The Alaskan family was finally relieved after finding Lulu.

Dogs not only are people’s pets, but act like siblings. Dogs that can’t do regular things like other dogs are extra vulnerable.

When they couldn’t find their dog, The owners were devastated because they literally acted as siblings. When dogs are gone it feels like something is missing from the house. According to NBC News, “She means everything,” owner Ted Kubacki said. “I have five daughters, and they’re 4 to 13 years old, so they’ve spent every day of their life with that dog.”

Whenever people lose their pet the first thing is to go search for it, but the Kubacki family has searched for weeks, the family had given up hope. According to NBC News, “We put the kids to bed and got a text saying, ‘We found your dog,’ or ‘I have your dog,’ and we’re like, ‘Oh my god, this is incredible,’” he said. “Then the person texted me, ‘Just kidding.’ This happened, yeah, that was all part of this terrible story.”
